The fantastic London to Cambridge ride is a very popular event with cyclists of all abilities. The route covers around 60 miles from Pickett’s Lock in north London to the new Finish at Jesus Green in the heart of Cambridge. The ride winds through the country lanes of Essex, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire, with refreshment stops along the route and live music, food, beer tent and massage at the end. This year the Cambridge Goes Electric festival will be at the finish, with electric bikes to see and try.

Minimum age 14, riders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 18.

Road bike / hybrid / mountain bike suitable.

It is recommended that all riders wear a helmet. A selection of helmets will be available for purchase on the day.

Ride Gradings

Suitable for anyone who enjoys a reasonably active life. The pace is gentle and the terrain flat to undulating. Distances no more than 30 miles (50km).

Suitable for those with slightly more cycling experience. the terrain can be a little hillier than grade 1.5 and distances up to 45 miles (70km).

For the regular and reasonably fit cyclist. The terrain may include some challenging hills and distances up to 75 miles (110km).

These routes require a good level of fitness and stamina and feature challenging inclines and/or a longer time in the saddle. Distances can be up to 100 miles (160km).

Getting here by car

From M25 junction 25: A10 - A110 - A1055 to the Start. Parking all day at start costs £3 (tickets available on the day)
No parking at the finish site on Jesus Green. Alternative parking is available nearby here..

COACH TRANSPORT
If you have booked a morning coach ticket, please meet at Midsummer Common at 5:45am.

CHANGE to COACH TIMES IN THE AFTERNOON. Not many people are needing this service so we will run it at one time slot in the afternoon to take cyclists/bikes back to the Start - approximately 5.00pm. All journeys are non-stop. Trains will be running all afternoon.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU ARE USING COACH TRANSPORT, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO START UNTIL 08.30am
Advance booking recommended as spaces cannot be guaranteed on the day - tickets cost £25.50 for you and your bike.
NB TRANSPORT TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE There will be a limited supply of bubblewrap on the day.

Getting here by train

The nearest stations to the start are Ponders End (very close to start) or Edmonton Green (3.3m ride to the start at Lee Valley).
Greater Anglia trains from Cambridge will take bikes, this is on a first come first serve basis and the number of bikes taken will depend on space. Please see National Rail for train times. If you have any queries regarding bikes please call Greater Anglia on 0345 600 7245.
